Elizabethtown College Men's Track and Field Blue Jays Compete at Susquehanna Open SELINSGROVE, Pa. --- The Elizabethtown College men's track and field team competed at the non-scoring Susquehanna Open at the Garrett Sports Complex on Saturday afternoon. Senior Kevin Clark (Horsham, PA/Hatboro-Horsham) earned his fourth victory of the year in the pole vault as he cleared 4.90 meters (16 feet, 3/4 inch) to beat a field of 31 competitors by nearly one foot. Senior Drew Graybeal (Woodbine, MD/Glenelg) also picked up a win as he finished first in the 800 meters and provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division III indoor championships with a time of 1:54.64, just shy of the facility record of 1:54.42 set by Patrick Donovan '07 at the 2005 MAC championships. Graybeal also added a third-place finish in the 200 meters, running a team season-best time of 23.18 seconds. Sophomore A.J. Farris (Edgewood, MD/Joppatowne) also posted a season best as he was clocked in 23.22 seconds to finish fourth, and added a seventh-place finish in the 55 meters at 6.68 seconds. Senior Ryan St. Clair (Chambersburg, PA/Chambersburg) was eighth in the 3000 meters with a time of 9:02.51, while first-year student Chris Heisey (Middletown, PA/Middletown) nearly cracked the program's top 10 as he took ninth place with a time of 9:06.71. In relays, the 4x400-meter quartet of junior Phil Alder (Pottstown, PA/Pottsgrove) (53.6 seconds), sophomore Kyle Grimm (Pottstown, PA/Pottsgrove) (52.5 seconds), Graybeal (49.7 seconds) and Clark (50.8 seconds) finished third with a time of 3:26.93, the eighth-best in program history. |
