Kevin Clark Finishes Fourth in Pole Vault, Drew Graybeal Advances to 400 Finals at NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships

ADA, Ohio --- Elizabethtown College senior Kevin Clark earned All-America honors with a fourth-place finish in the men's pole vault, while senior Drew Graybeal advanced to the finals of the men's 400 meters on the opening day of the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships at Ohio Northern University on Friday.

Clark (Horsham, PA/Hatboro-Horsham), the defending Division III indoor champion in the pole vault, finished fourth with a best vault of 16 feet, 5 1/2 inches (5.02 meters) to earn All-America honors at the indoor championships for the third consecutive year.

Clark, who was the national runner-up at the NCAA Division III outdoor championships in 2006, becomes the 24th Elizabethtown athlete to be recognized as an All-American in track and field, and increases to 30 the number of All-America performances in both track and field and cross country in program history.

Graybeal (Woodbine, MD/Glenelg) advanced to the finals of the 400 meters by finishing second in his heat and sixth overall with a time of 49.58 seconds. The finals will be held on Saturday at 3:15 p.m.

By advancing to the finals, Graybeal is guaranteed to be recognized as an All-American for the fourth time in his career, as he was honored in both the indoor and outdoor 800 meters in 2007 along with the indoor distance medley relay in 2006.

As a team, the Blue Jays are tied for 14th place in the standings after four of 14 events with five points.

Also on Saturday, senior Erin Fisher (McEwensville, PA/Warrior Run) will compete in the women's 5,000-meter run at 4:35 p.m.
