Elizabethtown College Men's Track and Field Blue Jays Defeat Messiah, DeSales and Dickinson at Elizabethtown Quadrangular ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown College hosted Messiah College, DeSales University and Dickinson College in its annual Pentangular track and field meet, and the Blue Jays won the team title with 66 points, ahead of Dickinson (52), DeSales (43) and Messiah (12). The Blue Jays posted six individual and two relay wins at the meet, as sophomore A.J. Farris (Edgewood, MD/Joppatowne) picked up a win in the 100 meters (11.02 seconds), senior Drew Graybeal (Woodbine, MD/Glenelg) won the 400 meters (48.62 seconds), junior Dylan Rulander (Russell, PA/Eisenhower) captured the 1500 meters (4:04.99) and sophomore Elton Dos Santos (Philadelphia, PA/Penn Charter) was victorious in the 110 hurdles (16.48 seconds). In field events, senior Kevin Clark (Horsham, PA/Hatboro-Horsham) set a meet record in winning the pole vault (16 feet, 3/4 inch) and sophomore Tim Katzaman (Wyomissing, PA/Wyomissing) won the discus (119 feet, 2 inches). The 4x100 relay team of sophomore Mike Mauger (Pottstown, PA/The Hill School), Clark, junior Jason Mastroianni (Macungie, PA/Emmaus) and Farris finished first with a time of 43.01 seconds, while the 4x400 relay team of Farris (51.0), junior James Munnelly (Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks East) (51.8) , Graybeal (48.0) and Rulander (50.3) crossed first in 3:21.35. Runner-up performances on the track came from Mauger in the 100 meters (11.50 seconds) and 200 meters (23.25 seconds), Munnelly in the 800 meters (1:58.70), first-year student Chris Heisey (Middletown, PA/Middletown) in the 3000 meters (9:02.44) and Dos Santos in the 400 hurdles (59.16 seconds). Finishing second in field events were senior Jason Yurchak (Franklinville, NJ/Delsea Regional) in the pole vault (14 feet, 1 1/4 inches) and sophomore Mike Torre (Medford, NJ/Shawnee) in the javelin (159 feet, 4 inches). at Elizabethtown, Pa. |
