Kevin Clark Finishes Fourth in Decathlon at NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships

OSHKOSH, Wisc. --- Elizabethtown College senior Kevin Clark (Horsham, PA/Hatboro-Horsham) became an All-American for the fifth time in his career after finishing fourth in the decathlon at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh on Friday.

Clark, who was seventh in the competition after day one, used a first-place finish in the pole vault (14 feet, 11 inches) and fifth-place finishes in the 110 hurdles (15.34 seconds) and 1,500-meter run (4:39.85) to climb into fourth with a total of 6,608 points.

It is the fifth time in Clark's illustrious career that he has earned All-America honors, having done so four times in the pole vault (indoors 2006 through 2008, and outdoors in 2006). His was the 27th All-America performance in men's and women's track and field by an Elizabethtown athlete, and the fourth this year.

Ozzie Brown of Moravian College won the decathlon with 7,192 points, followed by Kyle Steiner of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (7,126 points), Josh Lovell of Linfield College (6,675 points) and Clark.

In other action, senior Drew Graybeal (Woodbine, MD/Glenelg) finished 15th in the 800 meters with a time of 1:54.08.

On Saturday, senior Erin Fisher (McEwensville, PA/Warrior Run) will be the lone Blue Jay in action as she competes in the 5,000 meters at 4:55 p.m., after taking All-America honors with a seventh-place finish in the 10,000 meters on Thursday night.
