Etown Runs at Penn State and Gettysburg Invitationals

STATE COLLEGE and GETTYSBURG, Pa. --- Elizabethtown ran at a pair of invitationals Saturday. The Blue Jays sent seven of their top runners to the Penn State National Invitational, where Etown placed 28th in a field of 37 mostly NCAA Division I teams with a total of 746 points. The Blue Jays’ junior varsity squad ran at the Gettysburg Invitational, where the group placed 17th out of 23 teams consisting of NCAA Division I, II and III teams, posting a score of 431.

At Penn State, Tyson Evensen (West Sand Lake, NY/Averill Park) was Etown’s top finisher. He placed 137th out of 294 finishers on the 5.2 mile course in 27:06. Jason Theobald (Honesdale, PA/Honesdale) was Etown’s number two runner at PSU with a time of 27:13 in 155th place, and Greg Wetzel (Warrington, PA/Central Bucks East) finished in 164th place in 27:19. Patrick Donovan (South Pasadena, CA/St. Francis) finished in 27:20 in 166th place overall.

At Gettysburg, Ryan St. Clair (Chambersburg, PA/Chambersburg) was Etown’s top runner in 89th place out of 232 finishers on the 8k course. He finished in 29:13.

Etown will return to action as the host of the Elizabethtown Invitational Saturday, October 22 at the Elizabethtown Fairgrounds.
