ELIZABETHTOWN COLLEGE MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY Four Blue Jays Compete at NCAA Division III Championship Meet DELAWARE, O. --- An Elizabethtown-record four runners – three men and one woman – competed as individuals at the NCAA Division III Championship meet, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University, Saturday. The top finisher for the Etown men was junior Tyson Evensen (West Sand Lake, NY/ Averill Park), who placed 106th out of 211 finishers. His time over the 8k course was 27:17, with a 5:10 split at the one mile mark and 16:08 split at the three mile mark. Senior Greg Wetzel (Warrington, PA/Central Bucks East) was the second Blue Jay to cross the line in 114th place with a time of 27:21. His one mile split was 5:12, and he crossed the three mile mark at 16:28. Etown junior Jason Theobald (Honesdale, PA/Honesdale) finished right on his heels in 116th place overall with a time of 27:22. He crossed the one mile mark at 5:11 and passed the three mile point in 16:18. On the women’s side, first-year student Tiffany Kulp (Perkasie, PA/Pennridge) capped her rookie cross country campaign by finishing 137th in the nation out of 213 finishers on the 6k course. Her time for the race was 24:26, and she crossed the one mile mark in 6:00 and the 5000m mark in 20:19. |
