Elizabethtown Places Third at Dickinson Invitational

Patrick Donovan '07 placed second out of 151 runners.

CARLISLE, Pa. --- Elizabethtown, currently ranked 30th in the nation in NCAA Division III, raced on the 4000m short course of the Dickinson College Long/Short Course Invitational Saturday and placed third overall out of 20 teams in the race and second out of Division III teams with a score of 27 points. Division II Shippensburg University won with a score of 17, and Carnegie Mellon University was second with a score of 20.

Patrick Donovan (South Pasadena, CA/St. Francis) was Etown’s fastest runner on the day with a time of 12:27, placing second overall in a field of 151 finishers and posting an average mile time of 5:00.2. Carnegie Mellon’s Brian Harvey won the race in 12:21.

Brandon Bear '09 was tenth overall.

A total of four Etown runners placed in the top 25, with Brandon Bear (York, PA/Eastern York) also placing in the top ten, as he finished tenth in 12:41. Jason Theobald (Honesdale, PA/Honesdale) finished 16th for Etown in 12:48, and David Cohen (Allentown, PA/William Allen) was 23rd in 12:56.

Elizabethtown will return to action Saturday, October 21, when it hosts its annual Elizabethtown College Invitational.
