Elizabethtown Men Finish Fourth at Davis & Elkins Forest Festival Invitational

ELKINS, W. Va. --- The Elizabethtown College men’s cross country team competed at the Forest Festival Invitational on the campus of Davis & Elkins College on Saturday, and despite bringing just four of its top seven runners, finished fourth in a field of eight schools with 81 points.

The Blue Jays' top finisher was senior Ryan St. Clair (Chambersburg, PA/Chambersburg), who placed eighth with a time of 29:27.46. Junior Scott Derkacz (Huguenot, NY/Port Jervis) had a strong ninth-place finish at 29:47.45 while junior Dylan Rulander (Russell, PA/Eisenhower) took 16th at 30:38.96.

Senior Drew Graybeal (Woodbine, MD/Glenelg) came in 20th with a time of 31:05.06, and first-year student Matt Myers (Pennsburg, PA/Upper Perkiomen) rounded out the scoring for the Blue Jays as he placed 29th in a time of 31:58.40.

Indiana University of Pennsylvania won the team title with 63 points, followed by West Virginia Wesleyan (68), Seton Hill University (74) and Elizabethtown. Eric Cooper of West Virginia Wesleyan was the individual winner as he posted a time of 28:02.77 to win by 30 seconds.

The full Blue Jay squad will be in action at the Paul Short Invitational at Lehigh University on Friday, Sept. 28.
