ELIZABETHTOWN COLLEGE MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY Elizabethtown Men Run at Dickinson Long/Short Invitational CARLISLE, Pa. --- The Elizabethtown College men's cross country team competed at the Dickinson College Long/Short Invitational on Saturday afternoon. A total of 15 schools competed in both races, with their finishes combined to produce overall results. The Blue Jays took eighth overall with 235 points, and were sixth in the 8,100-meter "Long" race in a field of 21 schools. In the "Long" race, first-year student Chris Heisey (Middletown, PA/Middletown) was the Blue Jays' top finisher as he took 17th with a time of 27:52.73. Senior Ryan St. Clair (Chambersburg, PA/Chambersburg) was 21st in 28:02.68 and junior Scott Derkacz (Huguenot, NY/Port Jervis) placed 33rd in a time of 28:29.82. In the 4,000-meter "Short" race, junior Evan Metz (Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks East) led the Blue Jays with a 50-th place finish in 13:25.65. Dickinson College won the team championship with 43 points, followed by Lock Haven University (86), Saint Vincent College (143), University of Mary Washington (158), Penn State Behrend (209), Gettysburg College (222), Messiah College (228) and Elizabethtown (235).
