FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Etown's Liz Fretz Named Middle Atlantic Conference Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown College freshman Liz Fretz (Parkerford, PA/Owen J. Roberts) has been named the Middle Atlantic Conference women's lacrosse Player of the Week for the week ending March 24. She is the first Blue Jay women's lacrosse player ever to receive the honor. Fretz scored five of Elizabethtown's goals in the Blue Jays' first ever win, a 13-8 defeat of conference rival King's Saturday. In last Tuesday's 13-8 loss to Villa Julie, Fretz scored two goals and assisted another. For the week, she totaled seven goals and one assist in two games, making her involved in eight of Etown's 21 goals last week. Thus far this week, Fretz has continued her heroics, leading Elizabethtown with four goals and chipping in two assists in last night's 12-6 win over Gwynedd-Mercy. So far this season, Fretz has amassed 21 goals and five assists for 26 points in six games. The Elizabethtown women's lacrosse team is currently 2-4 overall and 1-0 in MAC play. |
