FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Etown Forward Brandy Espenshade Named Commonwealth Conference Field Hockey Player of the Week ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown College senior forward Brandy Espenshade (Grantville, PA/Lower Dauphin) has been named the Commonwealth Conference field hockey Player of the Week for the week ending September 29. Espenshade helped the Blue Jays to a pair of wins last week as Etown improved to 5-2 overall. She scored Etown's first goal in a 2-1 win over Scranton Tuesday. In Elizabethtown's 5-0 win over Goucher Saturday, Espenshade scored two goals and assisted a third. For the week, Espenshade totaled three goals and one assist for seven points as the Blue Jays went 2-0. She is currently tied for second on the team in scoring with four goals, two assists and ten points through seven games played. Over the course of her collegiate career, Espenshade has compiled 22 goals, 13 assists, and 57 points. Elizabethtown will return to action at home against Commonwealth Conference rival Messiah Tuesday, October 1 at 3:30 p.m. The game is a rematch of the 2001 conference championship game, which Messiah won 2-1 in double overtime.
