Etown Junior Brad Duppstadt Named to ABCA All-Region Baseball Team

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown College junior center fielder Brad Duppstadt (Mechanicsburg, PA/Cumberland Valley) has been named to the 2003 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) NCAA Division III All-Mid-Atlantic Region Second Team. It is the first time Duppstadt has received regional honors in his career.

Duppstadt had a monster season for Etown in 2003, leading the team in batting average (.422), runs scored (30), hits (54), home runs (4), slugging percentage (.602), and on base percentage (.500). Despite the Blue Jays' weather-shortened season in 2003, his total of 54 hits this year was the fifth-highest single season total ever at Etown.. He also drove in 19 runs, stole seven bases, hit seven doubles and belted out two triples in 2003.

Duppstadt was on the All-Commonwealth Conference team both this year and in 2002, and he was the conference's Rookie of the Year in 2001. He was also named the 2003 Commonwealth Conference Most Valuable Player.

The Elizabethtown College baseball team concluded the 2003 season with a 21-14 overall record and was the Commonwealth Conference runner-up.
