Three Elizabethtown College Men's Lacrosse Players Named to All-MAC Teams

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Three Elizabethtown College men's lacrosse players, the most ever for the Blue Jays in a single season, have been named to the All-Middle Atlantic Conference teams. Junior midfielder Justin Griffey (Aberdeen, MD/Aberdeen) earned a spot on the All-MAC First Team, and first-year midfielder Frankie Puzzangara (Wallingford, PA/Strath Haven) and first-year defender Frank Cacia (Newark, DE/Tatnall) earned places on the All-MAC Second Team. It is the first time that any of the three have received honors from the conference.

Griffey currently ranks tied for second among the Blue Jays in goals scored with 20, and he has five assists for a total of 25 points. His 48 ground balls rank third on the team, and his current goal, assist and ground ball totals are all career highs.

Puzzangara is tied for second on the team in goals with 20 as well, and he has eight assists for a total of 28 points. He also has 26 ground balls in his first season as a Blue Jay.

Cacia began his first season at Etown coming off the bench but moved into a starting role once injuries took their toll. Since then, he has proven to be one of the conference's top defenders and has recorded 37 ground balls and one assist.

The Elizabethtown College men's lacrosse team is currently 9-5 overall, and it finished 7-3 in the Middle Atlantic Conference regular season. The team has set records for most overall and conference wins this season, and it will play its first MAC playoff game ever on the road Wednesday, May 5 at Messiah College against the top-seeded Falcons at 4:00 p.m. in the semifinal round.
