Elizabethtown College Women's Lacrosse Defender Sarah Scholl Named to IWLCA Academic Honor Roll

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown College rising senior Sarah Scholl (Forest Hill, MD/John Carroll School), a three-year starting defender and midfielder on the women's lacrosse team, has been named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association's (IWLCA) national academic honor roll. She is the first Etown player ever to receive the honor in the three-year history of the Blue Jay women's lacrosse program.

Scholl is majoring in English education at Elizabethtown College. In 2003, she earned a spot on the All-Commonwealth Conference First Team as a defender, and she ranked 16th in the nation in NCAA Division III that year in caused turnovers per game with 40 over the course of the 14-game season.

In 2004, Scholl ranked second on the team in ground balls with 39, third among the Blue Jays in caused turnovers with 15, and third on the team in draw controls with 25 while starting all 16 of Etown's games. She also tallied five goals and five assists for ten points. She is a two-time member of the Middle Atlantic Conference All-Academic Team, having earned the honor in both 2003 and 2004.

The Elizabethtown College women's lacrosse team completed 2004, its third season of competition, with a .500 record in the Middle Atlantic Conference for the first time. The Blue Jays went 5-5 in the MAC and 6-10 overall in 2004, thereby setting a new team record for most overall and most conference wins in a season.
