ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- A pair of Elizabethtown College midfielders, senior Kate Gwilliam (Quakertown, PA/Quakertown) and junior Kelly Miller (Robesonia, PA/Conrad Weiser) have been named to the All-Commonwealth Conference field hockey teams. Gwilliam earned a spot on the conference's first team, while Miller was named to the second team.
This is the third year in a row Gwilliam has been named an all-conference player in field hockey, and the first time she has been named to the first team. She was a second team honoree in 2001 and 2002. This year, Gwilliam led Elizabethtown in goals scored with nine and points with 23, and she tied for the team lead with Miller in assists with five. She was also named the conference's Player of the Week once in 2003. Over the course of her career, Gwilliam compiled 17 goals and 17 assists for 51 points.
This is Miller's second time on the all-conference second team, as she earned the honor as a first-year in 2001 as well. Miller tied for the team lead in assists with five in 2003, and she was second on the team in goals scored with seven and in points with 19. Miller was also named the conference's Player of the Week once in 2003. In three seasons, Miller has totaled 13 goals and nine assists for 35 career points.
The Elizabethtown College field hockey team finished the 2003 season with a 7-13 overall record and went 6-4 in its last ten games.
