Elizabethtown Midfielder Kate Gwilliam Named to All-Region Field Hockey Team

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown College senior midfielder Kate Gwilliam (Quakertown, PA/Quakertown) has been named to the National Field Hockey Coaches' Association (NFHCA) All-South Atlantic Region Second Team. It is the first time in her career the three-time all-conference player has earned a spot on an all-region team.

In 2003, Gwilliam led Elizabethtown in goals scored with nine and in points with 23, and she tied for the team lead in assists with five. She was also named the conference's Player of the Week once in 2003.

Over the course of her career, Gwilliam compiled 17 goals and 17 assists for 51 points. She was a first team All-Commonwealth Conference honoree in 2003, and she was an all-conference second team member in 2001 and 2002.

Gwilliam is majoring in sociology and anthropology with a minor in criminal justice at Elizabethtown College. She is a 2000 alumna of Quakertown High School.

The Elizabethtown College field hockey team went 7-13 overall and 3-4 in the Commonwealth Conference in 2003. The team posted a 6-4 overall record in its last ten games of the season.
