Elizabethtown Seniors Liz Fretz and Sarah Scholl Named to All-MAC Team

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – Two members of the Elizabethtown College women's lacrosse team, seniors Liz Fretz (Parkerford, PA/Owen J. Roberts) and Sarah Scholl (Forest Hill, MD/John Carroll School), have been named to the All-Middle Atlantic Conference Second Team for the 2005 season.

Fretz, an attacker, has completed all four of her seasons with the Blue Jays as a member of the All-MAC teams. In addition to receiving second team honors this year, she was also a second team member in 2004 and in 2003, and she was a first team member in 2002. Fretz is the only 200+ career goal scorer in Etown lacrosse history, and her career scoring totals are 202 goals, 59 assists, and 261 points. This year, she tallied 56 goals, 24 assists, 80 points, 30 ground balls, 11 draw controls and 10 caused turnovers.

Scholl, a defender, has made the All-MAC teams this year for the second time in her career. She also earned a spot on the All-MAC First Team in 2003. This year, Scholl tallied 49 ground balls, 15 draw controls, a team-leading total of 24 caused turnovers, two goals, one assist, and three points. In 2003, she ranked 16th in NCAA Division III in caused turnovers per gam with 2.86.

The Elizabethtown College women's lacrosse team finished the 2005 season, its fourth year as a varsity program, with a 6-10 overall record and a 4-6 mark in the MAC.
