Elizabethtown's Seth Guida and Jon Kalejta Named to All-Commonwealth Conference Baseball Teams

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – Two members of the Elizabethtown College baseball team, senior catcher Seth Guida (Reading, PA/Exeter) and junior shortstop Jon Kalejta (Boyertown, PA/Boyertown), have been named to the All-Commonwealth Conference baseball teams for the 2005 season. Guida earned a spot on the First Team, while Kalejta was named to the Second Team.

This season, Guida batted .355 to lead Etown in batting average. He also led the Blue Jays in hits (49), doubles (12), home runs (8), runs batted in (34) and slugging percentage (.645). He was also second on the team in runs scored (30), triples (2), walks (17) and on-base percentage (.428). He was also named the Commonwealth Conference's Player of the Week for the week ending March 27.

Over the course of his career, Guida has compiled a .331 batting average by batting 151-for-456 at the plate. He has totaled 36 career doubles, seven triples, and 17 home runs. His 17 home runs ties him for the Elizabethtown career record. He has also amassed 81 runs scored and 111 RBIS in 129 career games, and he has a career slugging percentage of .553 and an on-base percentage of .382. This year is Guida's first appearance on the All-Commonwealth Conference teams.

Kalejta also made the All-Commonwealth Conference Second Team as a sophomore last year. This year, he batted .294 by going 40-for-136 at the plate with eight doubles, seven stolen bases and 14 RBIs. He led Etown in runs scored with 34, in walks with 32, and in on-base percentage with .429 while playing in all 40 of the Blue Jays' games.

In his three-year career, Kalejta has gone 111-for-401 for a .277 batting average, has 81 career runs scored, 20 doubles, one triple, two home runs, 48 RBIs and 19 stolen bases.

The Elizabethtown College baseball team finished the 2005 season as the Commonwealth Conference runner-up with a 19-20-1 overall record.
