FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Elizabethtown's Kelli Thon Named to All-Commonwealth Conference First Team in Softball ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. Elizabethtown College sophomore center fielder Kelli Thon (Victor, NY/Victor Central) has been named to the All-Commonwealth Conference First Team in softball for the 2005 season. This is Thon's second year of receiving all-conference recognition, having made the Second Team as a first-year student in 2004. Thon had an historic sophomore season for Etown in 2005, as she finished the year with a .519 batting average the highest in Elizabethtown softball history since its inaugural season of 1979, which consisted of only eight games. In 23 games played in 2005, Thon batted 42-for-81. She led the team in batting average, hits, runs scored (19), slugging percentage (.531), on-base percentage (.536) and stolen bases (9). In two seasons, Thon has batted .443 (85-for-192) with 35 runs scored, 15 RBIs, a .464 slugging percentage, a .470 on-base percentage and 20 stolen bases. The Elizabethtown College softball team finished the 2005 season with a 5-27-1 overall record. |
