Etown Senior Adam Rebert Named Commonwealth Conference Baseball Player of the Week

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown College senior Adam Rebert (Gettysburg, PA/Gettysburg) has been named the Commonwealth Conference Player of the Week in baseball for the week ending March 20.

Rebert, who split time between designated hitter and pitcher in three games last week, played a key role in the Blue Jays' 3-0 performance in their first three conference games. As Etown's starting DH in their 17-2 win over Susquehanna University Friday, Rebert hit 2-for-3 with two doubles, two runs scored and one RBI. In a 9-8, 8-inning win over Susquehanna in the first game of a doubleheader Saturday, Rebert went 2-for-4 with two runs, one home run, one double and two RBI. In the second game of the doubleheader, an 11-0 Etown win, Rebert did not bat but was instead the Blue Jays’ starting pitcher. He spread four hits over six innings while striking out four and walking two. He did not allow a single run en route to getting his first win of the season on the mound.

Thus far this season, Rebert is hitting .316 with seven runs scored and six runs batted in in seven games played. He is leading Etown in doubles with four, and his .684 slugging percentage is the highest on the team. In three appearances on the mound, he has posted a 1-2 record, a 5.54 ERA and nine strikeouts in 13 innings pitched.

The Elizabethtown College baseball team is currently 7-3-1 overall and 3-0 in the Commonwealth Conference. The Blue Jays will next face the College of New Jersey at home in a nine-inning game today at 3:00 p.m.
