Elizabethtown Junior Kristen Callaghan Named Conference Field Hockey Defender/Goaltender of the Week

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown College junior goaltender Kristen Callaghan (Langhorne, PA/Neshaminy) has been named the Commonwealth Conference field hockey Defender/Goaltender of the Week for the week ending Sunday, September 25.

Callaghan made five saves in 140 minutes last week as the Blue Jays went 2-0 without allowing a single goal. Etown defeated Wilkes 1-0, and she had three saves in that game. Etown also defeated Albright 3-0, and she had two saves against the Lions

Thus far this season, Callaghan has played all 630 minutes of all nine of Elizabethtown’s games. She has allowed just 12 goals in that span for a 1.33 goals against average, and she has made 29 saves for a .707 save percentage. She has compiled four complete game shutouts so far in 2005.

The Elizabethtown College field hockey team is currently 7-2 overall and 2-1 in the Commonwealth Conference. Etown’s next game is at home Wednesday, September 28 against Kean University at 4:00 p.m.
