Elizabethtown Senior Kristy Trimbey Named Conference Women’s Tennis Player of the Week 

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown College senior Kristy Trimbey (Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks West) has been named the Commonwealth Conference women’s tennis Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, September 25.

Playing at the ITA Regional Tournament at the University of Mary Washington Saturday, Sunday and Monday morning, Trimbey advanced from the Blue Singles Draw round of 64 to the round of 32 with a 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 win, then to the round of 16 with a 6-3, 6-3 win, then to the quarterfinals with a 1-6, 7-5, 6-3 win, and then to the semifinals with a 7-5, 6-3 win over teammate Alice Yu (Athens, GA/Clarke Central) before bowing out of the tournament in the semifinals. For the week, Trimbey had a 4-2 record in singles and a 1-3 mark in doubles.

In the course of her career, Trimbey has compiled 43 singles wins, the most for an Etown player since the conference season realigned from the spring to the fall in 1993, as well as 43 doubles wins, also the most since the conference realignment. Thus far this season, she has an 8-3 record in singles and a 4-5 mark in doubles.

The Elizabethtown College women’s tennis team is currently 4-2 overall. Etown’s next match will be on the road against Commonwealth Conference rival Messiah College Thursday, September 29 at 3:00 p.m.
