FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Elizabethtown Sophomore Laurelyn Foderaro Named Conference Women’s Tennis Player of the Week ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown College sophomore Laurelyn Foderaro (Harleysville, PA/Christopher Dock Mennonite) has been named the Commonwealth Conference Player of the Week for the week ending October 2. It is the first time in her career that she has received the honor, and it is the third time this season that an Etown player has been named the conference’s Player of the Week. Foderaro went 2-0 in singles and 2-0 in doubles last week as the Blue Jays went 2-0. Facing Messiah Thursday, Foderaro won 6-1, 6-4 at number three singles and 8-2 at number one doubles as Etown won 6-3. In a 9-0 win over Lebanon Valley Saturday, she won 6-0, 6-2 at number three singles and 8-2 at number one doubles. Thus far this season, Foderaro has gone 6-3 in singles and 7-2 in doubles competition for a 13-5 overall record. This is her first season at Elizabethtown; she was the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year as a first-year student at Eastern Mennonite University in 2004-05. The Elizabethtown College women’s tennis team is currently 6-2 overall and 4-1 in the Commonwealth Conference. The Blue Jays will return to action at home Tuesday, October 4 at 3:30 p.m. against conference rival Albright College. |
