Elizabethtown College’s Dana Moyer and Brooke Dotterer Named to NSCAA Women’s Soccer All-Region Teams

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown College junior sweeper Dana Moyer (Harleysville, PA/North Penn) and first-year forward Brooke Dotterer (Spring City, PA/Owen J. Roberts) have each been named to the National Soccer Coaches’ Association of America (NSCAA) All-Mid-Atlantic Region Teams. Moyer has earned a spot on the All-Region First Team, and Dotterer has earned a place on the All-Region Second Team.

Moyer, a team captain and three-year starting defender for the Blue Jays, has landed on the first team for the first time after earning All-Mid-Atlantic Region Second Team honors as a sophomore in 2004. She is also a three-time All-Commonwealth Conference player, having received first team honors there in 2004 and 2005, as well as a second team berth as a first-year student in 2003.

This season, Moyer started all 19 of Etown’s games in the backfield, and she tallied three goals, three assists and nine points. She converted her only penalty kick attempt in 2005, and the Blue Jay defense allowed just 86 shots on goal over the course of the season. In her career, she has six goals, five assists and 17 points.

Dotterer made an immediate impact for Elizabethtown as a first year student in 2005 and, in addition to her All-Mid-Atlantic Region nod, was also named the Commonwealth Conference’s Rookie of the year and an All-Commonwealth First Team player. She started all 19 of Etown’s games in 2005, and she led the Blue Jays in assists with six. She tied for second on the team in points with 22, and she was third on the team in goals with eight. Dotterer also led Elizabethtown in shots with 60, and her two game-winning goals tied her for second on the team.

The Elizabethtown College women’s soccer team finished the 2005 season with a 13-6 overall record. The Blue Jays reached the semifinals of the Commonwealth Conference playoffs, and the team posted a 5-2 conference record during the regular season.
