Elizabethtown College First-Year Student Jenn Hawkins Named Middle Atlantic Conference Defender/Goaltender of the Week in Women’s Lacrosse

Jenn Hawkins '09.ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown College first-year goaltender Jenn Hawkins (Havre de Grace, MD/Havre de Grace) has been named the Middle Atlantic Conference women’s lacrosse Defender/Goaltender of the Week for the week ending April 30. It is the first time in her career that she has received the honor.

For the week, Hawkins had a 6.00 goals against average, a .625 save percentage, seven ground balls and two caused turnovers as Elizabethtown went 2-0 and clinched its first playoff berth in the five-year history of the program. In Etown’s 14-4 win over Wilkes Wednesday, she made six saves, had three ground balls and two caused turnovers. In Etown’s 11-8 win over FDU-Florham Saturday, she made 14 saves and had four ground balls.

Thus far this season, Hawkins has a 10.38 goals against average and a .513 save percentage. She has played every minute, 960 in all, of Elizabethtown’s 16 games thus far this season. She has totaled 175 saves.

The Elizabethtown College women’s lacrosse team is currently 6-10 overall and 5-5 in the MAC. The Blue Jays will return to action Tuesday, May 2 at Lycoming College in a 4:00 p.m. MAC playoff quarterfinal game.
