Elizabethtown College Senior Laura Rinck Selected to Play in NFHCA Senior All-Star Game

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown College senior Laura Rinck (Selinsgrove, PA/Selinsgrove Area), a midfielder and co-captain on the Blue Jay field hockey team, has been selected to play in the National Field Hockey Coaches’ Association (NFHCA) Senior All-Star Game for NCAA Division III. The 2006 NFHCA Division III Senior All-Star Game will be played Saturday, November 18 at William Smith College in Geneva, NY. Game time is 9:30 a.m.

Laura Rinck '07.Rinck is currently tied for the Elizabethtown team lead in goals scored with seven, and she is tied for the team lead in game-winning goals with three. She is tied for third among the Blue Jays in assists with four, and she ranks third on the team in points with 18. She has started all 18 of Etown’s games in 2006. In her career, she has 15 goals, 19 assists, 49 points, five game-winning goals and one defensive save.

In 2005, she was named to the All-Commonwealth Conference Second Team. Rinck has been a member of the Middle Atlantic States Collegiate Athletic Corporation (MASCAC) All-Academic Team in 2004 and 2005, and she was named to the NFHCA National Academic Squad in 2003 and 2005.

The Elizabethtown College field hockey team is currently ranked 11th in the nation in the latest NFHCA poll. The Blue Jays are 15-3 overall and 5-2 in the Commonwealth Conference, and the team will play its last regular season game on the road against Kean University in a non-conference contest at 6:00 p.m. The conference playoffs will begin Wednesday, November 1 with Elizabethtown facing Lebanon Valley College on the road at a time to be determined.
