ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Five Elizabethtown College students have been named to the All-Commonwealth Conference teams in men’s soccer for 2006. Junior midfielder Michael Terry (Beech Creek, PA/Central Mountain) and sophomore defender Wes Bunting (Lancaster, PA/J.P. McCaskey) both earned spots on the First Team, while senior midfielder Brennan Reichenbach (Selinsgrove, PA/Selinsgrove Area), junior defender Rick Winstanley (Manchester, England/St. Gabriel’s) and senior goaltender A.J. Fleisher (Kutztown, PA/Kutztown Area) were named to the Second Team.

This is Terry’s first time on the All-Commonwealth Conference First Team after earning a spot on the Second Team last year. This year, Terry was one of just two Elizabethtown players to start all 19 of the Blue Jays’ games, and he totaled two goals, one assist and five points. In his career, Terry has totaled seven goals, six assists and 20 points over three seasons.

Bunting has earned a spot on the all-conference teams for the first time in his two-year career this season. A defender, he tallied two goals, four assists and eight points in 18 games in 2006. In his two-year career, Bunting has five goals, five assists and 15 points from the backfield.

Reichenbach spent his entire career as a defender prior to this season before moving up to midfield and forward mid-way through the 2006 season. Although this is his first season on the All-Commonwealth Conference Second Team, he was also named the conference’s Co-Rookie of the Year for the 2003 season. Despite spending the first half of the 2006 season in the backfield, Reichenbach wound up tied for the team lead in goals scored with four, and he had one assist for nine points in 19 games played this year. In his four year career, he totaled 11 goals, three assists and 25 points in 91 games.

Winstanley has earned a spot on the all-conference teams for the first time in his two-year career this season. He began the 2006 season at midfield before shifting to defense in October. He totaled two assists and two points in 18 games played this season, and in his career he has eight assists and eight points in 36 games played.

Fleisher has also earned a spot on the all-conference teams for the first time in his career this season. Over the course of his career, he has earned the Commonwealth Conference’s Goaltender/Defender of the Week award multiple times, and he was also the 2006 Commonwealth Conference playoff tournament Most Valuable Player. This season, he was one of just two Elizabethtown players to start all 19 of the Blue Jays’ games, and he posted a goals against average of 0.66 and a save percentage of .851 in over 1,774 minutes of work. He has made 173 saves over the course of his career.

The 2006 Elizabethtown College men’s soccer team won the Commonwealth Conference title and competed in the NCAA Division III tournament for the second time in the last three years. The Blue Jays finished 11-5-3 overall in 2006, the program’s 55th consecutive season with a .500 or better overall record.
