FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Elizabethtown College Sophomore Jenn Hawkins Named Middle Atlantic Conference Women’s Lacrosse Goaltender/Defender of the Week ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown College sophomore goaltender Jenn Hawkins (Havre de Grace, MD/Havre de Grace) has been named the Middle Atlantic Conference’s women’s lacrosse Goaltender/Defender of the Week for the week ending March 25. Hawkins made 29 saves and allowed just four goals in 97:35 last week as Elizabethtown went 2-0 and improved to 4-1 overall, the team’s best start through five games in the six-year history of the program. In Elizabethtown’s 18-4 win over King’s College (Pa.), she played all 60 minutes and made 16 saves while giving up four goals and scooping up two ground balls. In Elizabethtown’s 15-2 win over Moravian College, she played the first 37:35, did not allow a goal and made 13 saves and had one ground ball. For the week, she had a goals against average of just 2.46. Thus far this season, Hawkins has started all five of Elizabethtown’s games in the net, and she has totaled 274:30 minutes, 57 saves and 27 goals allowed. She has a save percentage of .679 and a goals against average of 5.90 in 2007. Elizabethtown is currently 4-1 overall and 2-0 in the Middle Atlantic Conference. The Blue Jays will return to action on the road against Widener University in a 4:00 p.m. MAC contest Thursday, March 29. |
