FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Elizabethtown College Sophomore Katie Foley Named Middle Atlantic Conference Women’s Lacrosse Player of Week for Third Consecutive Time ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown College sophomore attacker Kate Foley (Palmyra, NJ/Holy Cross) has been named the Middle Atlantic Conference Player of the Week in women’s lacrosse for the week ending April 15. It is the third week in a row that she has received the award. Foley totaled 15 goals, four assists, 19 points, three ground balls, eight draw controls and four caused turnovers as Elizabethtown went 2-1 overall and 2-0 in the MAC last week. In Etown’s 14-13 win over nationally 16th-ranked Lycoming College, she scored four goals, assisted one more and had four draw controls. She scored four goals in Elizabethtown’s 19-11 loss to nationally fifth-ranked College of New Jersey. She scored seven goals, had three assists, two caused turnovers and three draw controls in Etown’s 22-15 win over Scranton Saturday. So far this season, Foley leads Elizabethtown in goals with 54 and in points with 72. She is second on the team in assists with 18, third on the team in draw controls with 20, fourth on the team in ground balls with 20 and fourth on the team in caused turnovers with 14. In her career, Foley has 94 goals, 32 assists and 126 points, as well as 60 ground balls, 43 draw controls and 29 caused turnovers in two seasons. The Elizabethtown College women’s lacrosse team is currently 9-2 overall and 7-0 in the MAC. The Blue Jays currently have their highest win total in the six-year history of the program, and they are the only team in the MAC with an undefeated conference record. Elizabethtown will return to action at home Tuesday, April 17 against Messiah College in a 4:00 p.m. MAC game. |
