Angela Freeland Named Commonwealth Conference
Defender/Goalie of the Week in Women's Soccer

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown College junior goalkeeper Angela Freeland (Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) has been honored by the Commonwealth Conference as the Defender/Goalie of the Week in women's soccer for the week ending Sept. 2, the conference office announced Monday.

Freeland started both matches in last weekend's season-opening Blue Jay Classic and made five saves without allowing a goal in either match. Playing just the first half in both contests, she made two saves against Roger Williams University on Saturday and tallied three saves against Frostburg State University on Sunday.

She departed both matches at halftime with the score tied at 0-0, as Elizabethtown lost to Roger Williams 2-1 in overtime and defeated Frostburg State 1-0.

The Blue Jays (1-1-0 overall) return to action on Friday, Sept. 7 against Mount Union College at the Days Inn Classic at SUNY-Fredonia.
