Gretchen Geiger Named Commonwealth Conference
Defender/Goalie of the Week in Women's Soccer

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown College junior defender Gretchen Geiger (Pilesgrove, NJ/Woodstown) has been honored by the Commonwealth Conference as the Defender/Goalie of the Week in women's soccer for the week ending Sept. 9, the conference office announced Monday.

Geiger was named to the All-Tournament Team after anchoring a Blue Jay defense that allowed just six shots and no goals en route to winning the Days Inn Classic at SUNY-Fredonia over the weekend.

Led by Geiger, Elizabethtown held Mount Union to two shots in a 2-0 win on Friday, and limited host SUNY-Fredonia to four shots in a 1-0 victory on Saturday.

The Blue Jays (3-1-0 overall) return to action on Wednesday, Sept. 12 at 4:30 p.m. against McDaniel College at Ira R. Herr Field.
