FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Stacey Wasserman Named Commonwealth Conference Player of the Week in Volleyball ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown College senior setter Stacey Wasserman (Upperco, MD/Owings Mills) has been honored by the Commonwealth Conference as the Player of the Week in volleyball for the week ending Sept. 9, the conference office announced Monday. Wasserman was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Gettysburg Battlefield Classic after leading the Blue Jays to four victories at the tournament, part of a 5-0 week for Elizabethtown. She averaged 9.89 assists, 2.72 digs and 0.89 blocks as the Blue Jays posted wins over Division II Shippensburg and 2006 NCAA participant Richard Stockton during the week. Against Stockton, Wasserman became the eighth player in program history to reach 1,000 career digs, while her 53 assists against Johns Hopkins were five shy of her career single-match high set last season. The Blue Jays (7-0 overall) return to action on Wednesday, Sept. 12 at Haverford College at 7:00 p.m. |
