Megan Angstadt and Liz Hannegan Sweep Commonwealth Conference Field Hockey Honors

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown College junior Megan Angstadt (Oley, PA/Oley Valley) and sophomore Liz Hannegan (Lancaster, PA/McCaskey) were honored by the Commonwealth Conference after leading the Blue Jays to three straight victories in field hockey last week.

Angstadt was selected as the conference Player of the Week while Hannegan was recognized as the Goalie of the Week for the second time this season as the Blue Jays posted three wins in as many matches, including the 500th win in program history over Kean University on Saturday.

Angstadt scored three goals and dished out three assists to lead the Blue Jay offense. Two of her goals were game-winners, including an overtime goal in 3-2 win at Swarthmore College on Thursday. Angstadt posted at least one point in all three matches and was involved in six of the Blue Jays’ eight goals for the week.

Hannegan earned shutouts in two of her three wins last week, and in all she allowed two goals in 216 minutes of action while making nine saves. For the season, Hannegan has recorded four shutouts and has a 1.28 goals against average.

The Blue Jays (6-3 overall) carry a four-game winning streak into Wednesday's match against King's College at 4:30 p.m. on Wolf Field.
