Brooke Dotterer, Gretchen Geiger Capture Commonwealth Conference Women's Soccer Honors

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown College juniors Brooke Dotterer (Spring City, PA/Owen J. Roberts) and Gretchen Geiger (Pilesgrove, NJ/Woodstown) have been recognized by the Commonwealth Conference as Player and Defender of the Week in women's soccer for the week ending Oct. 14, the conference office announced Monday.

Both Dotterer and Geiger scored hat tricks as the Blue Jays (13-1-1 overall, 1-0-0 Commonwealth) extended their unbeaten streak to a school-record 14 consecutive games with victories over Susquehanna University (4-0) and Lebanon Valley College (3-2 in double overtime).

Dotterer scored all three goals in the Blue Jays' 3-2 win over Lebanon Valley on Saturday, helping Elizabethtown to an early 2-0 lead before netting the winning goal midway through double overtime. It was her third career hat trick and increased her team-leading goal total to eight.

Geiger was honored as Defender of the Week for the second time this season after scoring her first three goals of the season in a 4-0 win over Susquehanna on Wednesday. She scored twice in the first 13 minutes of the contest and added her third goal with 18:49 left to close out the scoring.

Elizabethtown, ranked 20th in the latest NSCAA Division III poll, returns to action on Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. at Lycoming College.
