FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Jeff Mullen and Matt Diller Named Second-Team Academic All-District in Men's Soccer ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown College juniors Jeff Mullen (Horsham, PA/Hatboro-Horsham) and Matt Diller (Chambersburg, PA/Mercersburg Academy) have been named to the ESPN The Magazine College Division Academic All-District Second Team in men's soccer, as voted upon by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Mullen, a goalkeeper, is majoring in management and has a cumulative grade-point average of 3.67. In 18 games this season, he has compiled a 14-4 record with nine shutouts. Mullen ranks second in the Commonwealth Conference in both goals against average (0.72) and save percentage (.803). In the classroom, Mullen has made the Dean's List all six semesters, and has participated in the Hershey Foods Honors Program. He is a member of the Academic Integrity Committee and is a recipient of a Provost Scholarship. Diller, a forward, is majoring in business and has a cumulative grade-point average of 3.36. He ranks third in the Commonwealth Conference in both goals (11) and points (26) for the Blue Jays while appearing in all 19 matches. Off the field, Diller has a concentration in entrepreneurship at Elizabethtown and is the manager of the Handcrafted Stone division of Nitterhouse Masonry Products in Chambersburg. To be nominated for the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America program, a student-athlete must be of at least sophomore academic standing with a 3.2 or higher cumulative grade-point average and be a starter or significant reserve. |
