Erin Fisher Named Division III Mideast Region Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Year

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown College senior Erin Fisher (McEwensville, PA/Warrior Run) has been honored by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) as the 2007 NCAA Division III Mideast Region Athlete of the Year in women's cross country, as voted upon by the region's head coaches.

Fisher won the Mideast Regional championship last Saturday at Lehigh University by 12 seconds over 2006 NCAA runner-up Caitlin Bradley of Dickinson College, after winning her second consecutive Middle Atlantic Conference championship on Oct. 27.

In six races this season, Fisher recorded three wins and three second-place finishes while leading the Blue Jays to their first MAC team title since 2004 and a fourth-place finish at the Mideast Regional meet.

The Blue Jays earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Division III championships for the second straight year, and will compete on Saturday at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn.
