Rodney Francis Named Commonwealth Conference Baseball Player of the Week

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown College sophomore outfielder Rodney Francis (Pottstown, PA/Owen J. Roberts) has been named the Commonwealth Conference Player of the Week in baseball for the week ending March 9, the conference office announced Monday.

Francis hit .571 (12-for-21) with four doubles, 12 runs batted in and three stolen bases as the Blue Jays went 3-4 during their spring break trip to Fort Pierce, Florida.

Francis had four multi-hit games during the trip, including going 4-for-5 with five runs batted in against Eastern University nd 3-for-3 with four RBI in a win over La Roche College.

For the season, Francis is batting .400 with a team-high 15 runs batted in through nine games for the Blue Jays (5-4 overall), who return to action against York College on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. in their home opener at Kevin Scott Boyd Stadium.
