FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Brandon Watson Named Commonwealth Conference Baseball Player of the Week ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown College senior outfielder Brandon Watson (Philadelphia, PA/Central) has been recognized as the Commonwealth Conference Player of the Week in baseball for the week ending April 13, the conference office announced Monday. Watson had a standout week as the Blue Jays went 5-0 and averaged 9.8 runs per game. He finished 11-for-19 with five extra-base hits and 10 runs batted in, and went 4-for-5 with two doubles, two triples and five RBI in a 13-11 win over Lebanon Valley in the opener of their three-game series on Friday. With his performance last week, Watson raised his batting average from .220 to .308 and joins six other Blue Jay starters with averages over the .300 mark. Elizabethtown (16-8 overall, 5-1 Commonwealth) returns to action on Tuesday hosting Alvernia College at 3:30 p.m. |
