Women's Basketball Ranked Ninth in WBCA Division III Academic Top 25

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- The Elizabethtown College women's basketball team is ranked ninth in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association Division III Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll for the 2007-08 season, the WBCA has announced.

The Blue Jays compiled a team cumulative grade-point average of 3.462 during the 2007-08 season, with 10 of the team's 12 players at 3.16 or higher and six above 3.70. It is the first time in the 12-year history of the Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll program that Elizabethtown has been ranked.

Highlighting the team's performance in the classroom was senior forward Amanda Reid (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth), who posted a perfect 4.00 grade-point average during the academic year and was a third-team CoSIDA Academic All-District selection.

Concordia (Wisc.) University was the top-ranked team in Division III with a 3.637 grade-point average, followed by Messiah College (3.627), Saint Lawrence University (3.528), Emory University (3.501), College of St. Benedict (3.488), Beloit College (3.472), Simpson College (3.469), York College (3.467), Elizabethtown and Drew University (3.447).
