ETOWN'S EMILY MORRIS NAMED COMMONWEALTH CONFERENCE SOFTBALL ALL-STAR

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown College freshman Emily Morris (Canton, PA/Canton) has been named a Commonwealth Conference second team all-star in softball.

Morris, a freshman shortstop from Canton High School, finished second on the Blue Jays in hits with 23. She played in all 30 games for Elizabethtown and batted .258. She was third on the team in walks with 11 and had an on base percentage of .343. Morris' three doubles tied her for second on the team, and she was the only Blue Jay to hit a home run in 2001. Her 29 total bases led the team.

This is the second time in the 2000-01 academic year that Morris has been named to a conference all-star team; she was also named a second team all-star in volleyball as an outside hitter in the fall.

The Elizabethtown College softball team finished the 2001 season with an 11-19 overall record and a 5-9 mark in the Commonwealth Conference.
