Elizabethtown College's Detweiler Named to 1999 MAC Commonwealth League Softball All-Star Team
ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Vikki Detweiler (Townville, Pa./Maplewood), a member of the Elizabethtown College softball team, has been selected as a Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Commonwealth League first-team all-star for the 1999 season. It is the first time she has earned MAC honors.Detweiler, a junior thirdbaseman, appeared in 29 games, including 25 starts, for the Blue Jays in 1999. She led the team in batting average (.359), on-base percentage (.432) and runs scored (21) and was among the team leaders in hits (28), walks (10) and stolen bases (8).
A three-year letterwinner, she started all 35 games in 1998 and led the team in runs scored with 35. She was also among the team leaders in hits (35), stolen bases (20) and batting average (.302).
The daughter of Jim and Laurie Detweiler of Townville, Pa., she is majoring in occupational therapy with a minor in religion at Elizabethtown. She is a 1996 graduate of Maplewood High School.
The Elizabethtown softball team posted a 16-19-1 overall record in 1999 and finished third in the MAC Commonwealth League with a mark of 8-5-1.
