ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown College junior Mandi Ewing (McClure, PA/West Snyder) has been named to the 2000 GTE College Division All-District II Academic Women's Fall/Winter At-Large First Team, selected by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Ewing, a forward and link on the field hockey team and English education major, led Elizabethtown in all major offensive categories with eight goals, six assists and 22 points. She was named a First Team All-MAC Commonwealth field hockey All-Star, and was named to the 1999 Fall All-Academic Team.
The Women's Fall/Winter At-Large team represents athletes competing in cross country, fencing, field hockey, gymnastics, rifle, soccer and swimming.
The College Division District II consists of all non-NCAA Division I colleges and universities in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, West Virginia and the District of Columbia.
To be nominated for the GTE Academic All-America program, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore with a 3.2 cumulative grade-point average and a starter or significant reserve on their team.
