ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown College senior Larry Bullock (Rome, PA/Northeast Bradford) has been named to the 2000 GTE College Division All-District II Academic Men's Fall/Winter At-Large team, selected by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Bullock, the captain of the men's cross country and track and field teams, was named to the District II Second Team.
An elementary education major, Bullock was the top runner on the 1999 Middle Atlantic Conference Champion men's cross country team, the first Elizabethtown cross country team to race in the NCAA Division III National Championship Meet. He finished second overall out of 119 runners at the MAC Championships, earning First Team All-Conference honors, and placed ninth out of 229 runners at the Mid-East Regional meet to earn All-Region honors. He was also named to the 1999 MAC Fall All-Academic team.
Bullock also won a gold medal in the 5,000m run in 15:59 at the 2000 MAC indoor track and field championships, and was part of the distance medley relay team which placed second at the MAC championships in 11:00. He was also named to the 1999-2000 MAC Winter All-Academic team.
The Men's Fall/Winter At-Large team represents athletes competing in cross country, fencing, gymnastics, ice hockey, rifle, soccer, swimming, water polo and wrestling.
College Division District II consists of all non-NCAA Division I colleges and universities in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, West Virginia and the District of Columbia. Ten student-athletes are selected to the District II First Team, and ten are selected to the District II Second Team.
To be nominated for the GTE Academic All-America program, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore with a 3.2 cumulative grade-point average and a starter or significant reserve on their team.
