ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown fought back from four- and five-run deficits to sweep a doubleheader against Ursinus, 5-4 and 7-6, on Thursday. It was the first doubleheader sweep of the season for the Blue Jays (7-10), who won for the sixth time in eight games.

With runners on second and third and two outs in the opener, Kristy Kordich lined a two-run single in the bottom of the seventh inning to give Etown their first come-from-behind win of the afternoon, 5-4. Linda Milnes, who went the distance for her first win of the season, had ripped a two-run double in the sixth inning to pull the Blue Jays within 4-3.

Vikki Detweiler went 3-for-4 while teammate Lora Crawford added two hits and scored the winning run.

In game two, Ursinus (6-8) ran out to a 5-0 lead in its half of the first inning, but the Blue Jays answered with four runs in their half of the frame to cut the lead to 5-4.

With the Bears leading 6-4, Kordich drove in two more runs with a two-out single in the bottom of the third inning to knot the game at six. Two innings later, Angela Moyer knocked in Kristy Nowell with the winning run.

Moyer also tossed seven innings of relief for the Jays, striking out three against no walks to earn her third win of the season. Crawford and Kelly Spence chipped in with two hits apiece.

Etown returns to action with a Commonwealth League doubleheader at Albright on Saturday, April 4. Game time is 1 p.m.
