ETOWN SWEPT IN DICKINSON DOUBLEHEADER, 3-2 AND 2-1 ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Kim Peiffer went 4-for-7 with an RBI and run scored to lead Dickinson to a doubleheader sweep of Elizabethtown in non-league action on Thursday. The Red Devils won the opener, 3-2, and took game two, 2-1. With the losses, the Blue Jays fell to 4-7. Holly Clark contributed three hits for Dickinson (2-0), including a clutch one-out gamewinning single in game one. Dickinson starter Jen Lampe went the distance to earn the win in game one while Lisa Santone surrendered four hits over seven innings in the nightcap. Kelly Spence (Glenolden, PA/Interboro) and Kristy Nowell (Wilmington, DE/St. Elizabeth) each belted two hits and an RBI in the first game for Etown while Emily Marcheski (Bel Air, MD/C. Milton Wright) rapped out two hits and an RBI in game two. Melissa Reinhart (Bernville, PA/Hamburg) collected three hits on the night for Etown. Starting pitcher Linda Milnes (Cinnaminson, NJ/Cinnaminson) turned in a solid performance in game one. Milnes scattered six hits over 7-1/3 innings while striking out ten batters. A couple of key errors led to two unearned runs, spoiling her strong effort. In game two, Santone shut down the Jays offensive attack, striking out eight batters and surrendered just four hits over seven innings in a complete game 2-1 triumph. Etown opens its MAC Commonwealth League schedule
on Saturday, March 27 with a doubleheader at Widener University.
