MUHLENBERG CLINCHES SWEEP OF ETOWN WITH 10-INNING, GAME-TWO VICTORY; BLUE JAYS FALL TO 1-8 AGAINST CENTENNIAL FOES

ALLENTOWN, Pa. --- Shelly Markowitz drove in Jackie Vanderstreet with an infield single in the bottom of the tenth inning to give Muhlenberg a 1-0, game-two victory over Elizabethtown and a sweep of their non-league doubleheader on Wednesday.  With the losses, the Blue Jays fell to 14-17 and 1-8 against Centennial Conference opponents this season.

Lori Blanchfield went 3-for-3 with two runs scored and Heather Dreby tossed a complete game to lead the Mules to a 9-4 victory in the opener.  Angie Tyson allowed no runs on only three hits and two walks over ten innings in the nightcap to earn her tenth win of the season.

Kelly Spence (Glenolden, Pa./Interboro) went 3-for-4 in game one while Angela Moyer (Telford, Pa./Christopher Dock) knocked in a pair of runs to lead the Etown attack.  In game two, Linda Milnes (Cinnaminson, N.J./Cinnaminson) allowed no earned runs on six hits while fanning seven over ten innings.  She needs 12 more strikeouts to set the program record for K's in a season (110).

Etown returns to action on Saturday, April 24 with an MAC Commonwealth League doubleheader at home against Susquehanna University.  Game time is 1 p.m.  The Blue Jays need a sweep of the Crusaders to reach the MAC playoffs for the first time since 1994.
