ETOWN SPLITS DOUBLEHEADER WITH KEAN, LOSES FIRST GAME 6-1, WINS SECOND, 2-1

ELIZABETHTOWN, PA --- Elizabethtown's record now stands at 10-9 overall following a split doubleheader with Kean University (12-14) at home Thursday. The Blue Jays lost the first game, 6-1, and came back to win the second, 2-1.

Elizabethtown was held to only two hits in seven innings in the first game as Kean pitcher Emily Penska (Carteret, NJ/Bishop Ahr) gave up only one unearned run in her complete game win.

Although the Blue Jays were held to only three hits by Kean pitcher April Myers (Trenton, NJ/Steinert) in the second game, Elizabethtown managed to score two runs in the bottom of the fifth on a double by Emily Marcheski (Bel Air, MD/C. Milton Wright). It was all Etown needed to win as pitcher Angela Moyer (Telford, PA/Christopher Dock Mennonite) held Kean to only one run in seven innings for her fourth victory of the season.

Elizabethtown returns to action at home Saturday against Moravian in a conference doubleheader. Game time is 1:00 p.m.
