ETOWN FALLS TO MORAVIAN IN CONFERENCE DOUBLEHEADER

ELIZABETHTOWN, PA --- Elizabethtown fell to Moravian, the first place team in the Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth, in a home doubleheader Saturday by scores of 7-1 and 5-2. With the losses, Etown falls to 10-11 overall and 5-5 in the MAC Commonwealth, while Moravian improves to 17-8 overall and 8-2 in the conference.

The Blue Jays scored their only run of the first game when, in the third inning, Jessica Robinson (McSherrystown, PA/Delone Catholic) led off with a triple and was driven in on a ground out by Kelly Spence (Glenolden, PA/Interboro). Etown was held to only four hits in the first game by Moravian pitcher Becky Stroup (Palmerton, PA/Palmerton).

In the second game, Etown scored both of its runs in the fourth inning on a two RBI single by Michelle Casserly (Sussex, NJ/High Point).

Elizabethtown returns to action Monday, April 17 on the road against Albright for a conference doubleheader. This doubleheader is the make-up of the snowed-out games originally scheduled for April 9. Game time for the first game is 3:30 p.m. The doubleheader originally scheduled for April 17 against Franklin and Marshall has been cancelled.
