ETOWN SPLITS DOUBLEHEADER WITH FRANKLIN AND MARSHALL, BLUE JAYS LOSE FIRST GAME, 6-1, WIN SECOND, 3-0

LANCASTER, Pa. --- Elizabethtown split a doubleheader with local rival Franklin and Marshall Thursday. The Diplomats won the first game, 6-1, but Etown came back to take the second, 3-0.

In the first game, Kristy Nowell hit two for three with a pair of doubles for Elizabethtown, and Laurie Morris went one for three with a double. Outfielder Tara VanEtten batted two for three with the Blue Jays' lone RBI.

Pam Pike threw a complete game shutout in the second game for the Blue Jays, giving up only three hits in six innings of work while striking out five. Erin Malone hit a double and had two RBI in the sixth inning to put the game out of reach for F & M. Melissa Reinhart batted three for three with a double and a run scored.
