ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown was swept by Goldey-Beacom College in a doubleheader on the road Tuesday. The Blue Jays fell in the first game 1-0 and lost the second 4-2. With the losses, Etown falls to 7-13 overall.
Goldey Beacom scored the only run of the first game in the second inning off Etown starter Pam Pike (Pennsburg, PA/Upper Perkiomen), who allowed only four hits and one run over seven innings pitched while striking out three.
Goldey Beacom capitalized on a four-run sixth inning to win the second game 4-2. Jess Robinson (McSherrystown, PA/Delone Catholic) scored the first run of the game for Elizabethtown early in the first inning. Emily Marcheski (Bel Air, MD/C. Milton Wright) scored Etown's second run in the seventh inning. Kristy Nowell (Wilmington, DE/Upper Perkiomen) hit two for two to lead the Blue Jays' offense.
Elizabethtown returns to action on the road Thursday, April 12 against Commonwealth Conference rival Moravian. Game time is 3:00 p.m.
